Western Red Cedar is native to the Pacific Northwest; the heartwood varies in colour from light straw to pinkish red to deep, rich brown, often with random streaks and bands of darker red/brown areas. The wood is straight-grained and non-porous and has a distinctive aroma.

Western Red Cedar is native to the Pacific Northwest. Old Growth Western Red Cedar for Haunted Coast Flutes is Harvested from a small wood-lot on Malcom Island in Johnston Straight and all the boards are custom cut to minimize waste.
